How often do you do have this fundraiser? Once
What type of fundraiser is this? Photo session
What do you do to prepare for the fundraiser? Set up a special area with props. We used a western theme, a saddle, bale of hay, horse collar with mirror, some cowboy hats for men and women, a background such as an old board wall or maybe a wall picture of horses.
What are the costs to put on this fundraiser? Hopefully you already have a camera of some kind, we used a 35mm Fujifilm camera, 35mm film (you can shop for the cheapest price) development of film (we used a one hour at the local Rite Aid)
How much do you charge for the tickets or meal, etc.? $2.00 per picture (we even had people taking pictures with their own cameras and giving us $2.00 per shot they took).
How many members are needed to put on the fundraiser? One to take pictures, various members to loan the props, three to four people to set everything up.
How much do you usually profit from the fundraiser? We made about $118.00 in two days during our Region 5 conference.
What do you usually hold the fundraiser for? We used this fundraiser to raise money for projects to fix our building, roof work, repair of air conditioners, etc.
Additional Comments:
We had a lot of fun with this money maker; you would be surprised at how many people want their pictures taken as a remembrance of their fun time at the conference. $2.00 was a very low price, we could have charged up to $3.00 and people would still have bought them.
