How often do you do have this fundraiser? Continuously throughout the year.
What type of fundraiser is this? Sale of donated books
What do you do to prepare for the fundraiser? We put a notice in our newsletter that we were in need of all kinds of books to be resold to help raise money for various charities. The response was fantastic.
What are the costs to put on this fundraiser? Nothing
How much do you charge for the tickets or meal, etc.? We charged $.25 per paperback book. First Editions were $4.00 each. Other hardbacks were priced from $1.00 to $2.50 per book.
How many members are needed to put on the fundraiser? Only one member is really needed, but it sure helps when everyone donates the books, then re-buys them.
How much do you usually profit from the fundraiser? The first three months we made $120.00.
What do you usually hold the fundraiser for? State President/Madame State President Project. 2. Monies for Sixth Grade Camp (Outdoor School) in our home county. 3. For overhead smoke eaters to help our non-smoking members. 4. Whatever else monies are needed for.
Additional Comments:
Our members have donated so many books that we had to install two book cases. The Aerie purchased those and a member put them together. The members who donated books then came in and purchased books then re-donated them after they read them for others to buy.
