Pick your price gun raffle
How often do you do have this fundraiser? We just had our first one. Planning on more.
What type of fundraiser is this? Raffle
What do you do to prepare for the fundraiser? Get a local gun store to sell us a gun. Purchase common raffle tickets available at Wal-mart, staples etc.
What are the costs to put on this fundraiser? The cost for the gun and raffle tickets. In our case we raffled off a Remington 7600, pump 30-05 with a 3 X 9 scope and soft case. The local gun shop gave us a great price of $525 for the package.
How much do you charge for the tickets or meal, etc.? Tickets are numbered 1-500, in the last 3 digits on the raffle ticket. You pick your ticket and the price of your ticket is the number on the ticket. For example if you pick the ticket with the last 3 digits of 200, your price would be $2.00. So tickets range from $.01 to $5.00.
How many members are needed to put on the fundraiser? 1 can do it, but it works out well with 2. One to make change, and one to handle the tickets.
How much do you usually profit from the fundraiser? In our case the ticket sales brought in $1252.50 - $525.00 for the gun. So we made $727.50. This will vary on the cost of the gun.
What do you usually hold the fundraiser for? Building Fund.
Additional Comments:
This raffle has gone over well. People like the idea of possibly winning a Hunting Rifle for a penny. And the most they can pay is $5.
