Ink Jet Cartridges
How often do you do have this fundraiser? Continuous throughout the year.
What type of fundraiser is this? Donations
What do you do to prepare for the fundraiser?
We place an empty cardboard box by the front door so the members can drop off their empty ink jet cartridges when they come in. And it reminds everyone when they see the box, to keep collecting. For new members, it lets them see that we do collect the empty ink jet cartridges. I purposely let the box fill up sometimes so the members know what the box is for.
What are the costs to put on this fundraiser? ZERO - empties4cash.com sends us boxes with pre-paid shipping labels so we can ship the empties back at no charge to the auxiliary. They also send flyers that you can hang up or hand out with the cartridges that are covered.
How many members are needed to put on the fundraiser? One person is needed to keep an eye on the box and empty it when it gets full until you have enough to fill a box. Empties4cash just ask that you fill the boxes up before shipping them. The key is to spread the word and to keep talking about it! That takes an effort from everyone. But only one is needed.
How much do you usually profit from the fundraiser? We usually profit about $70 each time we fill a box. Which is usually about every other month. They pay us $2 for every cartridge they receive that still has a good print head.
What do you usually hold the fundraiser for? Good of the order
Additional Comments: This is a really simple way to raise money with barely any efforts from the members/officers!! Empties4cash also works with another company called Inksmile.com. Where everyone who logs onto their site and orders ink supplies - 20% of their order total goes to our auxiliary. They cut a check quarterly!!
