Penny Social
How often do you do have this fundraiser? Once a month. Every 2nd Sunday.
What type of fundraiser is this? Penny Social
What do you do to prepare for the fundraiser? The auxiliary purchase NEW items approximately 50-60, members donate baked items and then we set them up on tables with plastic cups in front of those items. We then draw a number from each cup and the number drawn, wins.
What are the costs to put on this fundraiser?
No more than $3.00 an item and we gladly accept donations of new or never used items. $1.00 for the cups that are reusable. Mostly we purchase items on sale. The cost of tickets which we buy in bulk through the bingo.
How much do you charge for the tickets or meal, etc.? Sheet of 25 tickets for $1.00 each and raffle tickets 3/$2.00, 7/$3.00 & 21/$5.00 for larger prizes.
How many members are needed to put on the fundraiser? 3-4, chairperson, ticket seller, set-up & take down crew and of course a good shopper.
How much do you usually profit from the fundraiser? After cost, approximately $200-$400 per month.
What do you usually hold the fundraiser for?
All of our charities. Each charity has a chairperson who takes one penny social and helps with the set-up & take down and drawing of numbers. We will also use these for special things that either the Aerie, Auxiliary or someone in the community might need.
Additional Comments:
We also get some of the members children involved, by helping to bring the items won to that person who won it. This also brings in more people for the breakfast that the Aerie does. It's a good way to spend your Sunday morning and see everyone. I always welcome everyone and thank them for coming and let them know at the beginning, how much was made for that charity.
