"Feather" Bingo Party
How often do you do have this fundraiser? Once a year. Always the Friday night before Thanksgiving when turkeys are on sale.
What type of fundraiser is this? Playing Bingo
What do you do to prepare for the fundraiser? Have all members donate turkeys, hams, chickens, etc. then play bingo to win them back.
What are the costs to put on this fundraiser? The Aerie & Auxiliary donates a $100 box of food each for two coveralls.
How much do you charge for the tickets or meal, etc.? Bingo cards cost .25 each game to play. You can play as many or as few cards as you wish. The two coverall games costs $1.00 to play.
How many members are needed to put on the fundraiser? Very few. One member to call Bingo, 2 members to collect money. A few alternates help.
How much do you usually profit from the fundraiser? $800-1,000
What do you usually hold the fundraiser for? All proceeds benefit our Children's Christmas & Easter Parties.
Additional Comments: The Auxiliary started this fundraiser over 50 years ago. Back then, everyone donated "live turkeys and chickens", (That's where the name "Feather" Bingo Party came from.) The event is usually held during our regular Friday Night Fish Fry for all those who wish to eat.
